Our Mission

Born from a passion to help others on Long Island and a love of the sport of basketball, the WAFA Invitational Charity Basketball Tournament was created in April 2018. Terence Thomas and Mac Deng, two best friends for over 10 years, were inspired to bring the Long Island community together and raise money to help those in need. The two aim for their 3-v-3 charity tournament to grow into a Long Island staple.

Volunteer Opportunities

The WAFA Invitational Charity Tournament wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for our selfless volunteers. Volunteer referees, concession and registration table workers, photographers, and more all work together to allow the tournament to run safely and smoothly. We welcome anyone looking for volunteer opportunities to assist us in making the WAFA Invitational its best yet.

No team, no problem‼️If you want to play in our 4th Annual WAFA Invitational Tournament but can't find a team, register as a free agent! 🏆Free agents will be randomly formed into teams or placed on an existing 3-player or 4-player team. 🏆If you have a two-player team and are looking for a third person, you can register as free agents and let us know in the form's comments section.
